BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), decreased by 27.6 percent, in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 119,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 9th month. Of this, about 104,000 tons were loaded and about 14,700 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 69,600 tons of cargo were exported and 4,570 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 9th month, 1,880 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,040 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
At the same time, 32,300 tons of cargo were loaded and 24 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage. As well as, 28 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,040 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 9th month.
“Some 38,200 tons of essential products, 43 tons of metal products, 23,200 tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,920 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 44 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5,060 tons of container products, and 46,100 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
