BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 21. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 6.4 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 299,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 9th month. Of this, 59,600 tons were loaded and about 239,000 tons were unloaded.

More than 59,500 tons of cargo were exported and 72,100 were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

At the same time, 167,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 63 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 9th month.

Some 61,500 tons of essential products, 2 tons of metal products, 59,500 tons of construction and mining materials, and 1,680 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 330 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 79 tons of small and assorted products, 8,530 tons of container products, and about 167,000 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
