BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 26. Cargo transit through the customs of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province in the south-east of the country, decreased by 16 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi told reporters, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

“In total, more than 660,000 tons of cargo were transited through the province’s customs within 10 months,” he said.

The official noted that the mentioned volume of cargo was transited by 31,977 trucks and 963 freight wagons.

According to Khashi, the cargo was transited to Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Azerbaijan, the UAE, India, and Iraq through Milak, Mirjaveh, and Chabahar customs of the province.

Khashi also pointed out that transited products were mainly auto spare parts, beans, almonds, potatoes, apples, rice, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), sulfur and etc.

As reported, overall, more than 11 million tons of cargo were transited through Iran within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 7.4 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
