BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. The value of goods transported by rail in Azerbaijan amounted to almost $3.9 billion in 2022, which is 24 percent, or $769.3 million more than in 2021, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the committee, during the accounting period, the volume of cargo transportation by rail exceeded 7.3 million tons, which is almost 4 percent, or 275,346 tons more than in 2021.
Export cargo transportation by rail exceeded 2.9 million tons in quantitative terms in 2022, and $1.2 billion in value terms (an increase of 6.3 percent).
Imports by rail transport in quantitative terms exceeded 4.4 million tons, and in value - over $2.7 billion (an increase of 34.3 percent).
The cost of cargo transportation by all modes of transport amounted to more than $52.6 billion in 2022, including exports – about $38.1 billion, and imports – $14.5 billion.
