BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 9.5 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 758,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, about 397,000 tons were loaded and 361,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 63,600 tons of cargo were exported and 10,300 tons were imported through the Qeshm port in the 9th month.

Also, 6,450 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for transit purpose within the mentioned period

Over the 9th month, over 332,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 345,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

At the same time, 678 tons of cargo were loaded and 78 tons were unloaded at the port for other purposes.

Some 433 tons of essential products, 659 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 204 tons of chemicals, 82 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, about 669,000 tons of small and assorted goods, 724 tons of container products, and 87,300 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port within the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
