BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) decreased by 41.3 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Approximately 192,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the port during the 11th month. Of this, about 173,000 tons were loaded and 19,000 tons were unloaded.

More than 172,000 tons of cargo were exported and about 18,700 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month.

At the same time, 345 tons of cargo were unloaded at this port for transit, while 709 tons of cargo were loaded and 13 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 11th month.

Some 6,520 tons of essential products, 39,300 tons of metal products, about 126,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,880 tons of equipment were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 5 tons of chemicals, 2,160 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, and over 15,000 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In total, approximately 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.9 million tons were loaded and 5.88 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.37 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
