BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Azerbaijan imported vehicles and their spare parts worth $454.2 million from January through February 2023, Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee told Trend.
According to the committee, this figure increased by 45.5 percent or $142.1 million compared to the same period of the previous year.
Imports of vehicles and their spare parts in the reporting period amounted to 16.99 percent of Azerbaijan's total imports.
Furthermore, in January 2023, Azerbaijan imported vehicles and spare parts worth $326 million, while in the same month of 2022, the value of imported vehicles and spare parts totaled $186.9 million.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan imported 13,939 vehicles from January through February 2022, which is 25 percent or 2,794 vehicles more than in the same period last year. The cost of imported cars increased by 41.2 percent and amounted to over $199.3 million.
In addition, in 2022, Azerbaijan imported 74,577 cars, which was 18.22 percent or 16,617 less than in 2021. The value of imported cars last year increased by 13.1 percent and amounted to about $1.058 billion.
