Annual cargo movements at Iran’s Anzali port increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Anzali port in Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 7.11 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Approximately 1.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Anzali port the last year. Of that, 420,000 tons were loaded and about 1.14 million tons were unloaded.

Last year, 339,000 tons of cargo were exported and 1.1 million tons were imported through the Anzali port.

Furthermore, 81,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 37,100 tons were unloaded at the port for transit, as well as 4 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,380 tons were unloaded for other purposes.

About 762,000 tons of essential products, 148,000 tons of metal products, about 114,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 16,800 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Anzali port in the last Iranian year.

Moreover, 108,000 tons of chemicals, 269,000 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 17 tons of small and assorted goods, about 134,000 tons of container products, and 8,060 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
