BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 23.1 percent over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Approximately 8.43 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port during the last year. Of that, about 4.12 million tons were loaded and 4.31 million tons were unloaded.
So, about 480,000 tons of cargo were exported and 61,200 tons were imported through the Qeshm port for the reporting period.
Also, 21,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 30,600 tons were unloaded at the port for transit purposes in the last Iranian year.
At the same time, 3.61 million tons of cargo were loaded and 4.17 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.
Moreover, approximately 43,400 tons of cargo were unloaded at Qeshm port for transshipment, as well as 2,480 tons were loaded and 1,540 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the last year.
Some 6,240 tons of essential products, 540 tons of metal products, 124,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,700 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 1,640 tons of chemicals, 765 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 7.33 million tons of small and assorted goods, 9,860 tons of container products, and 949,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port over the Iranian year.
Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
