BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Chabahar port in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), decreased by 34 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Approximately 300,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 1st month. Of this amount, 64,800 tons were loaded and about 235,000 tons were unloaded.
So, 64,200 tons of cargo were exported and 88,200 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.
At the same time, about 146,000 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for cabotage, as well as 628 tons were loaded and 895 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 1st month.
Some 41,900 tons of essential products, 64,200 tons of construction and mining materials, and 964 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 197 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 32 tons of small and assorted products, 46,700 tons of container products, and about 146,000 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at this port within the mentioned month.
In total, 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.22 million tons were loaded and 6.68 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
