BAKU, Azerbaijan. June 6. The main freight forwarder of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Sara Logistics, redirects cargo to the International North-South Transport Corridor, Head of the Business Development Department of Sara Logistics Ulvi Ocaqli told Trend.
According to him, taking into account that repair works are currently underway on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway route, Sara Logistics redirects its cargo to the North-South route.
"I want to note that our company has two sea vessels, its own fleet (25 cargo vehicles), and railway trains, in particular fitting platforms (109 units). Every month we can handle up to 2,000 railway cars, or up to 300,000 tons," he said.
“Out of the total volume of transit cargo falling on the territory of Azerbaijan, about 200,000 tons are handled monthly by our company. It is mainly lumber if we talk about the types of cargo. The main destinations are cargo from Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and other countries," he added.
Ocaqli added that the company aims to expand the automobile and railway fleet due to the growth of transit cargo traffic through the territory of Azerbaijan.
