BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports decreased by 7.6 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), to June 14, 2023, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports.
Overall, 32.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the reporting period, while the figure stood at 35.6 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Approximately 11 million tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports within the mentioned period. This is a decrease of 15.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (about 13 million tons).
The volume of twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container shipments amounted to 310,000 tons. This is a decrease of 40.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (520,000 tons).
The volume of other container shipments was 3.39 million tons, which is a decrease of 42.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (about 5.92 million tons).
The general cargo volume stood at 4.76 million tons showing a 15-percent decrease compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (5.59 million tons).
Dry bulk cargo volume reached nearly 13 million tons. This is an increase of 24.1 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (10.5 million tons).
The liquid bulk cargo was 850,000 tons. This is 23.2 percent more than in the same period of the last Iranian year (690,000 tons).
The cargo was loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in Abadan, Arvandkenar, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Tiab, Jask, Chabahar, Charak, Chavibdeh, Khorramshahr, Dayyer, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Shahid Haqqani, Fereidoonkenar, Qeshm, Genaveh, Bandar Lengeh, and Noshahr.
