BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Turkmenhowayollary Agency (Turkmenistan Airlines) showed an impressive growth of 308 percent from January through May of this year compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
According to the official source of Turkmenistan, this was announced by the Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakiyev at a government meeting.
According to his statement, in the reporting period, the growth rate of work performed and services rendered in the transport and communication complex of Turkmenistan amounted to 24.8 percent.
He stressed that the plan for cargo transportation by road, rail, air and sea transport was exceeded by 4.1 percent, and for passenger transportation – by 6.3 percent.
The growth of services rendered by the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) amounted to 21.3 percent, and the Turkmendemiryollary Agency (Turkmenistan Railway) - 5.4 percent.
At the same time, the growth of services rendered by the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency (Turkmen Communication) to 11.9 percent, and Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) - 10.2 percent, the head of the agency noted.
The meeting summed up the results of the government's work in the economic sphere for the first five months of 2023. A number of documents were also considered and priority tasks of the socio-economic development of the country were discussed.
