BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Chabahar port in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 27.2 percent in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
Approximately 399,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 2nd month. Of this amount, 72,000 tons were loaded and about 327,000 tons were unloaded.
About 70,300 tons of cargo were exported and 212,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.
Furthermore, over 113,000 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for cabotage, as well as 1,850 tons were loaded and 1,180 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 2nd month.
Some 172,000 tons of essential products, 70,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,000 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 48 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 39,900 tons of container products, and about 114,000 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at this port within the mentioned month.
In total, 11.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.01 million tons were loaded and 4.66 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
