BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Turkmenistan Airlines will purchase six new passenger aircraft from the US Boeing company, Trend reports.
According to the resolutions signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the country will purchase four Boeing 737-8 airliners and two Boeing 777-367 ER aircraft.
The decision to purchase new aircraft was made in order to successfully solve the tasks provided for in the "National Program for the Development of Civil Aviation of Turkmenistan for 2012-2030", as well as the consistent modernization of the aircraft fleet and flight safety, the Resolutions say.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's civil aviation fleet consists almost entirely of Boeing aircraft.
