Volume of loaded/unloaded cargo at Iran’s Amirabad port rise by over 40%

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Amirabad port in the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), increased by 41 percent in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.

Overall, 340,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port during the reporting month. Of that, 103,000 tons were loaded and about 237,000 tons were unloaded.

Approximately 88,200 tons of cargo were exported and over 234,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 2nd month.

Within the 2nd month, 13,900 tons of cargo were loaded and about 2,200 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

Also, 799 tons of cargo were loaded and 470 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the 2nd month.

Some 218,000 tons of essential products, 6,460 tons of metal products, 90,600 tons of construction and mining materials, and 6,340 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Amirabad port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 4,110 tons of chemicals, 3,320 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 14 tons of small and assorted goods, 1,380 tons of container products, and 10,100 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded at the port over the mentioned month.

In total, 11.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.01 million tons were loaded and 4.66 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
