ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 29. The increase in the provision of work and services in the transport and communication complex of Turkmenistan from January through July 2023 amounted to 23.9 percent, Trend reports.
This was announced by the Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammetkhan Chakiyev, at a government meeting held on August 25, 2023.
As per his statements, during the specified period, the plan in the field of cargo transportation by road, rail, air, and sea transport was fulfilled by 4.8 percent, and for passenger transportation, by 4.6 percent.
The growth of services rendered by the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) amounted to 19.1 percent, the Turkmendemiryollary Agency (Turkmenistan Railway) was 5.9 percent, and the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) was 6.8 percent.
Furthermore, Chakiyev stressed that the growth of services rendered by the Turkmenhowayollary Agency (Turkmen Airlines) amounted to 159.7 percent and the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency (Turkmen Communication) to 12.2 percent, as the head of the agency noted.
