ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 30. Road construction works are underway in Kazakhstan on sections of highways with a total length of 6,400 kilometers, Trend reports.
According to an official source, 3,600 kilometers of the total length of roads are being reconstructed, and 2,800 kilometers are being repaired.
At the moment, more than 8,000 units of road construction equipment and 12,000 specialized personnel are involved in the work.
Furthermore, by the end of the year, it is planned to open traffic on reconstruction sites with new pavement for more than 1,000 kilometers.
At the same time, according to the results of the medium-term repair work to restore the wear layer, 826 kilometers of roads are scheduled to be put into operation.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is making significant efforts to modernize its automotive infrastructure. As part of these efforts, old and worn-out road sections are being replaced, the geometry of the tracks is being improved, modern road signs and markings are being installed, and modern technologies are being introduced to ensure the durability and safety of the road surface.
