BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Chabahar port in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), decreased by 27 percent, in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2023), compared with the same month last year, Trend reports.
During the 5th month, 235,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 5th month, of which, 26,000 tons were loaded and 209,000 tons were unloaded, according to the data of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Also, 25,000 tons of cargo were exported and 72,100 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month. At the same time, 22 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for transit.
Furthermore, 136,000 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for cabotage, as well as 25 tons were loaded for transshipment during the 5th month.
At the same time, 1,590 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for other purposes.
Some 50,800 tons of essential products, 1,580 tons of metal products, 25,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,460 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 60 tons of chemicals, 61 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 18,800 tons of container products, and 136,000 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at this port within the mentioned month.
Overall, around 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of that, 7 million tons were loaded and 5.68 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 1.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
