BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. The number of international flights (passenger planes only) through Iranian airports increased by 13 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the data from Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), over 11,500 international flights were carried out from Iran’s airports in 5 months.
In the same period the previous year, the number of international flights from Iran’s airports was more than 10,200.

There are 54 active civil airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
