BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. According to AYNA (information system to help improve the work of the Land Transport Agency) estimates, 2,400 buses should function to reduce congestion during rush hour in Baku, said Chairman of the Board of the Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan Anar Rzayev, during the presentation of the Mobility Transformation Program in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
"However, this figure can be adjusted," he noted.
The data of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee showed that from January through October 2023, passenger transportation by road in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.36 billion people, which is 19.3 percent more than the same period last year. During this period, 94.6 percent of passengers were transported by buses and 5.4 percent by taxis and other private carriers.
