BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. Iran has completed 788 projects in different areas, such as roads, railways, airports, and ports, with a total investment of about 729 trillion rials (about $17.3 billion) and 16 million euros, said Amir Mahmoud Ghaffari, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Trend reports.
He said that these projects will be launched between February 1 and 11, to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
The deputy minister also said that 831 km of main roads and highways, costing about 236 trillion rials (about $5.62 billion), will be opened in the field of road and transport.
Ghaffari added that 127,304 km of rural and security roads have been built with an investment of about 17.6 trillion rials (about $419 million).
He mentioned that some other important projects include 30.6 trillion rials (about $729 million) and 5.9 million euros for port development, and 8.68 trillion rials (about $207 million) and 5.6 million euros for air transport, terminal construction, and airport equipment.
Iran is trying to increase the transit capacity of the country by creating infrastructures in the fields of road and transport.
