BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Central Asia (CILT Central Asia) supports the sustainable and effective transformation of Turkmenistan's transport sector, a source in the CILT Central Asia told Trend.
It was noted that the CILT Central Asia, is currently involved in USAID's Trade Central Asia activity (TCA) as a subcontractor.
"Within the framework of TCA, CILT Central Asia initiated the signing of Memorandum of Understanding and the roadmap bewtween USAID's Trade Central Asia, Turkmen Logistics Association (TLA) and CILT Central Asia," said the source.
The Institute notes that the trilateral roadmap provides a framework for targeted interventions, leveraging the expertise of CILT Central Asia to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills.
"Through a number of capacity-building programs and initiatives, the partnership aims to empower professionals in this field, ensuring a sustainable and effective transformation of Turkmenistan's transport sector," said the source.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of all stakeholders to contribute to the long-term development and resilience of the transportation infrastructure in the region, the institute stressed.
Meanwhile, the Turkmen Logistics Association and CILT Central Asia, with the support of the USAID's Trade Central Asia activity, organized a round table earlier this year to discuss the role of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport as a transit hub for Central Asian exports.
During the meeting, representatives of Turkmenistan discussed with regional partners practical issues of cargo transportation, including transportation through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, schedule and tariffs of transportation, freight forwarding services, logistics services, paperwork and transit procedures.
