TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 22. Uzbekistan plans to purchase a Hyundai-made high-speed electric train to modernize its railway infrastructure and improve the quality of passenger transportation, Trend reports.

An official source claims that the Uzbek government plans to build a high-speed electric train that will connect Tashkent, the capital of the country, with Khiva, the administrative hub of the Khorezm region.

To implement this plan, the Uzbek authorities intend to purchase a high-speed electric train from the South Korean Hyundai Rotem company.

Furthermore, the electric train, consisting of seven wagons, will be able to simultaneously carry up to 351 passengers and reach speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, in light of the rapid development of the Uzbek economy, the railway sector occupies a key place where innovative technologies are being introduced and infrastructure and equipment are being modernized.

This sector has a significant impact on the country's economic growth, contributing to the expansion of international trade and increasing the competitiveness of the Uzbek industry.
