BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. China is interested in increasing the transportation of goods via the Eurasia region and joins the initiative to create the Eurasian Transport Route Association, Head of China Railway Container Transportation Corporation Yang Bin said during consultations on the establishment of the association in Baku, Trend reports.
According to him, this authority fits into the concept of development of the “One Belt, One Road” project.
“Since the beginning of the year, we have transported 200 container block trains across Eurasia to Europe, and deliveries will continue to grow,” Bin emphasized.
He noted that 40 cities in China are connected to 225 cities in Europe through various transportation routes, among which the Middle Corridor has gained importance.
Bin mentioned that the number of trains on this route and the volume of transportation will be increased.
To note, Azerbaijan has initiated the establishment of an international association “Eurasian Multimodal Transport Route” to improve the coordination of international transportation in the region of Central Asia, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye with the involvement of Austria and China.
The Association will be a collegial authority, overseeing the development of the route concept, tariff policy, and digitalization.
