SOCAR constructs about 1,200 km of gas pipelines in Georgia in 2013

In 2013 the 'SOCAR Georgia Gas' company constructed 1,179 kilometers of new gas pipelines and provided natural gas to 37,500 subscribers, according to a message posted on the website of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), with a reference to the SOCAR Georgia Holding's official report for 2013.

Currently the total length of pipelines in Georgia amounts to 3,969 kilometers, and the total number of subscribers has reached 347,000, according to the message.

The total length of new gas pipelines laid by SOCAR Georgia Gas Distribution LLC in Georgia is 413 kilometres and the number of subscribers provided with natural gas is 11,500.

In 2013, the SOCAR Georgia Gas LLC exported 652.5 million cubic meters of natural gas to the Georgian market.

Under the agreement between the Georgian government and SOCAR, the volumes of natural gas exported by the SOCAR Gas Export-Import LLC amounted to 1.246 billion cubic meters in 2013.

The SOCAR Georgia Gas LLC, which is included in SOCAR Energy Georgia, was established in 2007.

The company repairs the old gas pipelines and builds new ones in different regions of Georgia, on the basis of the contract signed with Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry.
