Int'l agreements on satellite networks and postal communication inked in Baku (PHOTO)

The Russian Communications Administration and the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications signed an agreement in Baku to entrust the Russian Communications Administration to represent in the International Telecommunication Union the interests of communication administrations of Intersputnik member-countries in terms of acquiring radio frequencies in the satellite networks of Intersputnik.

The Russian Communications Administration and the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications signed an agreement in Baku to entrust the Russian Communications Administration to represent in the International Telecommunication Union the interests of communication administrations of Intersputnik member-countries in terms of acquiring radio frequencies in the satellite networks of Intersputnik.

The agreement was signed within the 43rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC).

The agreement was signed by Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Igor Shchegolev and director general of Intersputnik Vadim Belov.

The agreement was signed within the cooperation program in the field of postal communication between the RCC and the Pan African Postal Union for 2011-2016. This agreement provides for cooperation in the field of postal management to manage and improve the quality of operational service in accordance with the requirements of the market, to exchange experience in such areas as banking and electronic products and services, to coordinate strategies and measures to combat fraud, to develop traditional and new services of postal communication, etc.

The interaction of the RCC Communication Administrations for the World Forums of the International Telecommunication Union was discussed during the meeting, held in Baku.

The agenda also includes the issues of creating the information society, developing information technologies and systems for public services, the results of the strategic conference of the Universal Postal Union, the internal activity of the RCC and etc.
