Uzbek Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case against former prosecutor Rashitjon Kadirov under articles 165 (extortion), 205 (abuse of power or official authority), 210 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, gazeta.uz reported.
On Feb. 23, Rashitjon Kadirov was detained in accordance with article 221 of Uzbek Criminal Procedural Code, was reported earlier.
Rashitjon Kadirov worked as the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan from 2000 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a judge of the Constitutional Court.
Currently, the investigation is underway.
