The OSCE has organized a seminar in Ashgabat on the topic “Best practices in anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) in the sector of designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBP)”, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the event participant.
The meeting participants touched upon ways of enhancing the preventive role of non-financial businesses and professions, reducing risks in the DNFBP sector and other issues, the report said.
An OSCE international expert drew attention to the important role of the DNFBP oversight as a mechanism for ensuring effective anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism and highlighted key measures of the effectiveness of oversight in the AML/CFT system.
