Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in OSCE in 2010 roundtable held in Vienne

A roundtable "Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010" organized by "Eurasian Transition Group" NGO jointly with "EU-Central Asia Monitoring" (EUCAM) under the auspices of Kazakh Permanent Representative to the OSCE Kairat Abdrakhmanov was held in Vienne; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.


Kazakh Permanent Representative to the OSCE Kairat Abdrakhmanov made a report on the course of preparation for the chairmanship, coordination of actions with the OSCE member-states and institutions. Participation of the Kazakh Majilis deputy- professor Kamal Burkhanov and Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly President Peter Schieder gave a keen interest to the event.

It was noted that Kazakhstan adheres to an idea of an equitable dialog aimed at mutually acceptable solutions. A new vision on many problems will proceed from Kazakhstan's experience in building of a tolerant society, stable development of the country, and etc.

Special attention was paid to development of cooperation of the European Union with Kazakhstan and Central Asia in the whole, in the context of topical issues of the Organization's agenda. The foreign experts emphasized steadiness of the Kazakh economic model.

On opinion of the participants, Kazakhstan's chairmanship is called for bringing a new breath to the OSCE.
