About 44 percent of Kazakhs vote abroad
Voter turnout of Kazakh citizens living abroad for 16:00 with Astana time was 5,527 people or 44.2 percent of the total number of voters, said Kazakh foreign ministry's department head Kairat Sazhanov, Kazakhstan Today reported.
"As of 17:00 with Astana time, voting completed in the polling station at our embassies in Japan and the Republic of Korea. An hour later, the vote will end at the Kazakh embassies in Korea and Malaysia," said Sazhanov.
He said the foreign ministry provides the conduct of snap presidential elections in Kazakhstan in 35 diplomatic and consular offices of the Republic abroad.
