Kazakhstan intends to announce the final results of the elections to the Senate (upper chamber of Parliament) on Monday morning, the CEC told Novosti-Kazakhstan news agency.
"A press conference will be held at 10:00 on Monday, Aug. 22 at the CEC, during which as it expected final results of elections to the senate will be announced," the report says.
Voting for MPs election to the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament ended in all regions and votes are being counted.
Earlier the CEC reported that preliminary voting results will be announced on Friday evening.
According to preliminary data, at present 371 registered observers monitor the elections. They include 52 international observers, 29 observers from political parties, 37 - from NGOs, 33 authorized representatives of candidates and 220 representatives of local and foreign media outlets.
Some 14 out of 39 registered candidates are nominated by maslikhats and 25 candidates being self-nominated. The registered candidates were devoid of women.
