Kazakhstan welcomes the preliminary results on the presidential election in Kyrgyzstan, which took place in a peaceful and transparent atmosphere and provided the free will of citizens of the country, according to a statement of Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Republic released on Tuesday.

"We respect the choice of the people of the brotherly country and we will consistently support the efforts aimed at strengthening political stability, continued economic and democratic development of Kyrgyzstan," - said in a statement.

Kazakhstan expresses a confidence that the elections will help to maintain peace and harmony in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan for further creative development.

Presidential elections were held in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday, October 30. They should become an important stage of legitimization of power in Kyrgyzstan after the coup in April 2010. The president, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who came to power in a result of "Tulip Revolution" of 2005 and the overthrow of the country's first president, Askar Akayev, were forced to resign and leave the country under pressure from the protesters.

According to the CEC, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambaev following treatment 99.96% of voting protocols in the lead in the presidential election with 63.24 percent.
