A unique project SmartAstana will turn Kazakh capital into one of the most intellectual cities of the world by 2030, Astana Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the conference SmartAstana - 2011 on Wednesday, KAZINFORM reported.
"Our task in the era of tremendous transformation of cities is striving for making our capital technically equipped, intellectually developed, basing on active introduction of new innovative technologic solutions. We have elaborated SmartAstana project for further development of Astana," Tasmagambetov said.
The Smart Astana project was developed based on a model of European smart cities development, which implies interaction of six characteristics: a smart economy, a mobile access, an intelligent environment, a smart city administration, an intelligent housing environment, smart people.
"I think, by 2030 Astana will be not only the most beautiful city, but the smartest one in the country," Tasmagambetov said.
According to Tasmagambetov, pilot projects on Astana development will be launched by the end of 2011. In December such social projects as School of the Future - Today and E-ambulance will be sanctioned in the framework of Smart Astana.
