Kazakhstan and China are eager to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the chairman of the Kazakh Senate (upper house) of Parliament Kairat Mami and the deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress Chen Zhili stated to a meeting in Astana, Kazinform reported.

According to Mami, China and Kazakhstan have reached a high level of strategic partnership over the past 20 years. The personal friendship and efforts of the leaders of two countries made a great contribution to the development of this partnership.

Moreover, Mami said the visit of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress Wu Bangguo to Kazakhstan in September contributed to deepening ties between the two legislative bodies.

According to Mami, Zhili's visit also expands the horizons of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

"Inter-parliamentary dialogue is an important part of the partnership between Kazakhstan and China and Kazakh parliamentarians are interested in further strengthening of the cooperation with Chinese counterparts," Mami said.

Chen Zhili, in turn, said China is ready to implement the agreement of leaders of Kazakhstan and China on comprehensive strategic partnership.

According to Zhili, China is interested in strengthening mutual political trust with Kazakhstan, mutually beneficial economic cooperation and cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
