The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kazykhanov received the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel on Wednesday. Both parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations in the format of 'Kazakhstan - Central Asia - the European Union'.
Moreover the foreign minister and Mr Morel discussed issues on combating terrorism and drug trafficking, border management, regional and trans boundary cooperation and future consultation on Afghanistan.
According to Mr Morel, the Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov and EU foreign policy Chief Catherine Ashton will meet early February.
"We expect the meeting of Lady Ashton with your Minister in early February," Mr Morel told reporters after a meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan.
