Kazakhstan, Astana. February 17/Trend T. Nurmagambetov
The Passenger Transportation Company has introduced a system of automated control of tickets for passengers on Kazakh trains, the company reported.
'On February 16, train №1/2 Tulpar travelling to Astana- to Almaty, introduced an innovative project that allows passengers to board without a paper ticket being printed. This is for the comfort of customers who have ordered a ticket via the Internet or self-service payment terminals,' the report said.
Passengers who buy a ticket via the Internet or terminal should show the conductor an identity document and token (14-digit electronic ticket). At the request of the passenger the train conductor using special terminal equipment can print out and give a ticket to a passenger.
'The carriage conductor will enter the passenger's passport details or check an e-ticket with the help of a mobile data collection terminal. After that the conductor will check the availability of the ticket in the Express system and register the passenger', the company reported.
The system of automated control of tickets has been installed to improve the service by developing e-ticketing thereby reducing staffing. Later this year, the innovation will be introduced in other passenger trains.
