The Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has today presented awards to the military people on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, Kazinform reported.
In particular Nazarbayev conferred the rank of lieutenant-general to the Deputy Chairman of Kazakh Defense Ministry's Joint Chiefs of Staff and the first deputy chairman of the National Security Committee Vladimir Zhumakanov.
Moreover, the rank of Major-General was conferred to the deputy chief of Air Defense Forces Askar Buldeshev, the first deputy commander of Regional Command "South" Sultan Kamaletdinov, head of Analysis and Strategic Department of the National Security Committee Seitzhan Shalabaev, director of the Emergency Situations Ministry's Civil Defense Department Meiram Iskakov and deputy chief of Presidential Security Service Kanat Orazkulov.
The president also awarded military people with orders of Glory, Valor, Honor and medals for feat, for military feat and Kazakhstan's Honored Worker honorary title.
The armed forces of independent Kazakhstan celebrate the 20th anniversary on May 7, 2012.
"I congratulate you on this holiday with all my heart. Over 20 years of independence we have prepared our own officers," Nazarbayev said.
The President stressed that during these 20 years, these people have served to the country and showed loyalty to their profession and love for their country and, therefore, they achieved such good results.
