Astana has become a symbol of Kazakhstan's success, Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mikhail Bocharnikov told Trend on Thursday.
"During the time that has elapsed since the announcement of Astana as a capital, the city turned into a major metropolis with developed infrastructure, a symbol of success of Kazakhstan," the Russian diplomat said.
He said Astana is rapidly turning into a beautiful city of Eurasia, it surprises by fast implementation of ambitious projects, and architectural masterpieces.
"I like that Astana has such sights, looking at which, you feel like you are in Moscow. First of all this, of course, the building of Triumph of Astana," the ambassador said.
He expressed the hope that the dynamic development of Astana will continue to keep in tune with the constantly strengthening Russian-Kazakh relations.
On July 6 Astana celebrates the Day of capital. It coincides with the birthday of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
