Soldier shot dead in military unit in Kazakh Astana

A soldier Nur Hayranbayev was shot dead in the military unit in Kazakh city of Astana on Wednesday, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported referring to KTK TV channel. According to the preliminary version, he shot himself with Kalashnikov assault rifle at the place of duty.
According to the spokesperson of Astana Department of the Interior Affairs Saltanat Azirbek, a suicide note of the shot soldier was found at the scene. In the note the soldier apologized to his family and friends.
"The circumstances of the accident are under investigation, experts are working on the scene, but the main version is that he committed suicide," Azirbek said.
According to the military unit's deputy commander Asylbek Shaykamanov, a criminal case has been filed on the fact, the military-investigation department of Akmola garrison is conducting pre-investigation activities and internal investigation.
"No hazing facts have been established within the period of (killed soldier's) service," Shaykamanov said.
