Kyrgyzstan will not impose trade sanctions against Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz government reported.

"The Kyrgyz government had and has no plans to impose any retaliatory trade sanctions against the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is completing all procedures to join the World Trade Organization (WTO)," Kyrgyz Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev said.

Earlier, the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry said that Kyrgyzstan could impose trade sanctions against Kazakhstan in response to Kazakh restrictions of Kyrgyz dairy product import.

"We believe that all the issues concerning relations with foreign partners should be resolved through negotiations and compromise, rather than by mutual threats and blackmail," Prime Minister said.
