New head appointed to Kazakh Kyzylorda region

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed former Deputy Prime Minister Krymbek Kusherbayev to the post of Kyzylorda region's head, Kazinform reported. Kusherbayev's candidature was unanimously supported by the local deputies.

Within the working visit to Kyzylorda region, Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov introduced Kusherbayev to the local authority staff.

"The tasks of the new regional head are to ensure further development of the region's economy and effective implementation of the President's instructions," Ahmetov said.

Krymbek Kusherbayev earlier served as minister of education, culture, health, sport, ambassador to different countries, headed West Kazakhstan and Mangistau region. In July 2012 he was appointed to the post of President's advisor. Since September 26, 2012 he has served as Deputy Prime Minister.
