Kazakhstan, China discuss cooperation prospects

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to China in early April, where he will meet with new Chinese President Xi Jinping, Official representative of Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan (CCS), Altai Abibullayev said at a press briefing on Monday.

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to China in early April, where he will meet with new Chinese President Xi Jinping, Official representative of Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan (CCS), Altai Abibullayev said at a press briefing on Monday.

He said the meeting will discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, as well as exchange views on issues of international politics within the UN, SCO and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.

"Following high-level talks a number of bilateral documents will be signed. During the visit, the head of state will attend the 12th session of the Boao Forum for Asia," Abibullayev said.

As it was noted at the briefing, China is an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan. In late 2012 the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China reached $24 billion.
