Increase of tariffs for communal public services and fuel and lubricants in Kazakhstan is not expected, Chairman of the Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies of the Republic Kazakhstan Murat Ospanov said.

"In May, there will be no increase of tariffs for regulated communal public services and fuel and lubricants throughout the republic," Murat Ospanov told reporters on Saturday.

According to him, the only exception is the Semey city of East Kazakhstan region, where from May 1, 2013 the tariff ceiling is introduced for water supply and sewer services.

"Provider of such services is the state municipal enterprise "Semey water utility". In general, in Semey city tariffs for water supply will increase by 6 tenge (151.07 tenge = 1 dollar) per thousand liters, tariffs for sewerage services will grow by 3.6 tenge per thousand liters. New tariffs are introduced for a period of two years, that is, until 2015," Ospanov added.
