Astana hosted forum 'Germany and Kazakhstan - cooperation on the eve of Expo 2017 - Energy security with the use of traditional and renewable energy sources', Kazinform reported.
According to Kazakh Deputy Industry and New Technologies Minister Albert Rau, Germany is among Kazakhstan's leading business partners in Europe and the whole world.
"The trade turnover between our countries hit 3.2 billion euros in 2012 and 1.5 billion euros in January-August 2013," he said.
According to Rau, Germany has invested 2 billion euros in Kazakhstan's economy since early 90's. Some 57 per cent of this sum was invested in the last three years. Kazakhstan in turn invested 5 billion euros in government bonds of Germany.
"We highly appreciate the cooperation prospects. We have everything to raise our economies to a higher level. Germany has new technologies and Kazakhstan has the resource base and favourable geopolitical position. We are confident that our joint efforts and coordinated action in the market will lead to an increase in our countries' positions in the world economy," Kazakh Deputy Minister said.
