An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in south-eastern Kazakhstan on April 7, Kazakhstan's Seismological Expedition of the Science Committee under Education and Science Ministry reported.
The earthquake occurred at 5:32 a.m. Almaty time (April 6, 23:32 a.m. Greenwich time), 129 kilometres to the east from the city of Almaty.
There is no information about victims or damage.
