The period of the usage of waterways of the country opened in Kazakhstan, according to the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Today, the season is already opened on the waterway sections of the Ural-Caspian and the Ili-Balkhash basin with total length of 2,321 km and the section of Shulbin water reservoir on the Irtysh River - Klin settlement (border with Russia) with the total length of 923.5 kilometers.
Shipping is carried out in Kazakhstan in Irtysh, Ural-Caspian and the Ili-Balkhash basin waterway section with a total length of more than 4,000 kilometers.
Depending on the weather conditions on the opening of the season on navigable sections is implemented from April 1 to May 12, and its average duration is 196 days. In this time period, the waterways in Kazakhstan are available for vessel traffic.
