Kazakhstan and Austria discussed the issues of visa facilitation and increase of the frequency of flights during the negotiations in Vienna, the Commissioner of EXPO 2017 - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Rapil Zhoshybayev told reporters Nov.25, following his visit to Austria.

"Issues of visa facilitation, increasing frequency of flights, trade, economic and legal cooperation were discussed at the talks in Vienna with the Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for European Integration and International Affairs Michael Linhart," said Zhoshybayev.

He said that during the visit, bilateral meetings with the leadership of the Federal Ministry for European Integration and International Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economics, Federal Economic Chamber, Association of Tour Operators and travel agencies, as well as the leading Austrian companies in the construction, tourism, logistics and renewable energy sources were held.

During the meeting with the Deputy Minister of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and economy of Austria, the co-chair of the Kazakh-Austrian intergovernmental commission Bernadette Gierlinger discussed the state and prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the participation of Austrian companies in the EXPO-2017 exhibition.

"Taking into account that the Alpine republic is one of the world leaders in the development of alternative and renewable energy sources, we look forward to the active participation of Austria in the EXPO-2017," said Zhoshybayev.

He said that some 75 percent of the energy in Austria is generated from renewable energy sources. Following the meeting, it was agreed to consider attracting Austrian companies to EXPO-2017 organization within the forthcoming session of the Kazakh-Austrian Intergovernmental Commission in 2015.
