Early election in Kazakhstan to ensure budget savings
Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 21
By Elena Kosolapova - Trend:
Early parliamentary election in Kazakhstan will make it possible to save budgetary funds, according to the message of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Jan. 21.
"In general, we believe that the combination of election of the MPs of the Majilis (lower house of the Kazakh parliament) and MPs of maslikhats [local representative bodies] in current economic conditions is an objectively reasonable solution," the Central Election Commission Chairman Kuandyk Turgankulov said at a press conference.
"This will make it possible to provide significant savings of the budget funds allocated for election campaigns, which is about 4.8 billion tenge [$1 = 374.6 tenge as of Jan. 21]," he said.
On Jan. 20, the president of Kazakhstan scheduled an early election of MPs of the Majilis of the Parliament elected on party lists to March 20, 2016 and early election of MPs of the Majilis of the Parliament elected by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan to March 21, 2016.
