The Kazakh National Geological Exploration Company 'Kazgeology' and Russia's Polymetal JSC have conducted exploration work in Shekara area in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan.
The two companies, within the previously signed Memorandum of Cooperation , have conducted aerogeophysical work on the site from August 31 to October 13 to identify promising areas for industrial deposits of gold and silver, copper-gold, gold-sulfide ores.
The complex aerogeophysical survey included magnetic prospecting and electrical exploration using the VTEM system, according to the company.
A unique VTEM or Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic system is the most innovative, perfect and successful aerial survey system used for more than 10 years. The depth of research is up to 800 meters.
The surveys conducted on test sites in several regions of the world with VTEM showed excellent results compared to the ones conducted by aerogeophysical electromagnetic systems.
The aerogeophysical work was carried out by Kazgeotech LLP, which is a joint venture between Kazgeology JSC and the Canadian company GeotechLtd. The scope of work covered about 6,500 km.
Based on the results of the work, a recommendation will be made for further detailed geological exploration work.
